Tony Karrer Neglected These 2 Tools

E-Learning expert Tony Karrer, with his blog eLearning Technology, has recommended a list of software/tools for users to make online tests/quizzes in this post Flash Quiz Tools: eLearning Technology. However, it's the year 2007 when he made that post public. Though I was astonished that QuizCreator and Proprofs Quiz Maker were not included in that list, it's pretty reasonable as QuizCreator and Quiz Maker did not gain enough publicity then, or Tony probably hadn't get the access to it. Now, over three years has passed since 2007, and quite a few emerging test maker software/tools have shown up. As a result, I think it may be the very time to refresh his list of software for test making, especially in the situation of more and more educators, researchers and evaluators need some other handy test making software with multiple choice type question aside from these relatively big shots, in eLearning industry, whether free or paid.
Wondershare QuizCreator
It's an easy and time-saving authoring tool to make a Flash-based test or quiz. Whether you are a teacher or training specialist, this program offers a motivating platform, with Free trial version available. Also, QuizCreator is a powerful test maker to create multimedia quizzes as well as effortlessly tracking and reporting test results with its management system online. That means, QuizCreator allows users to track their results with their standards based Learning Management System as its output is SCORM and AICC compliant.
The latest news from PR Newswire indicates that QuizCreator V4.0 with the feature of survey making is coming soon, probably at the early of October. Let's stay tuned for more information about this software.
Proprofs Quiz Maker
It's an online test maker tool that users can use to make an online quiz for work, school or fun. Furthermore, ProProfs works best for people who don't like to install software and it's totally free. The limit is that it only has 3 question types, namely, multiple choice, fill in the blanks and essay type. However, you can also integrate the quizzes with images. And the quiz can be published on your Web and blog. All you need to do is to click the Share & Embed button and then to copy and paste the HTML code to add it to your blog or website. ProProfs provide the services to analyze the results for users as well. My suggestion is that ProProfs is more for fun. For teachers and training specialists, QuizCreator should be your option to make an online test.
OK, an end should come to this article. Hope this article can be of some help on how to make multiple choice tests with one of these test makers.
